We toured West Virginia in September 2021. We wanted to get off of the interstates and drive the back roads to see the countryside. In doing so, we saw the beauty of the state. We toured a coal mine and visited the new river national park. the park is known for its unique bridge and the town of thurmond, population of 5. Thurmond is well known to photographers and is located within, and owned by, the national park service. this was a very pleasant trip and we loved the sites and people we encountered along the way.
